Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture

Welcome to the Michigan Center for Acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners have used acupuncture for over 3,000 years to address a variety of health issues, which TCM believes are caused by a block in the flow of Qi, the body's life force. Acupuncture consists of fine needles inserted at specific locations on the body, which relate to internal organs, nerve systems, muscles, or joints. The needles remove the blockage and restore the flow of Qi, which is the basis of optimal health and wellness.

Acupuncture has gained acceptance among Western practitioners as studies continue to demonstrate its effectiveness. In addition, the body's nerve pathways are highly correlated to acupuncture points-a surprising fact when you consider that acupuncture has been practiced since long before nerves were even discovered. Western medicine also believes that the insertion of needles releases endorphins, which stimulate nerve activity and increase the blood flow. This effect makes acupuncture a useful pain relief treatment, and it is becoming popular as an adjunct to many Western practices such as surgery and dental work.

At the Michigan Center for Acupuncture, we provide acupuncture treatment for a variety of conditions, including musculoskeletal and soft tissue issues, infertility and pregnancy, rehabilitation and detoxification, emotional and neurological concerns, weight loss, hypertension, and ear, nose, and throat problems. We also offer cosmetic acupuncture using the Mei Zen system. Contact us to schedule an appointment for a free consultation or if you have any questions about acupuncture or our services.
